Daili Diaz, DMD, MD

 

Dr. Diaz is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-focused care at New Tampa Oral and Facial Surgery.

She has completed extensive training in dentistry, medicine and maxillofacial surgery earning numerous degrees and certifications from the University of Florida including:

• A Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) degree
• A Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree
• A General Surgery certification
• A Maxillofacial Surgery certification

Prior to becoming a double gator. Dr. Diaz attended the University of South Florida in Tampa where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) in Biomedical Sciences in 2014 graduating Magna Cum Laude.

As a dual-degree trained maxillofacial surgeon from the University of Florida. Her 6-year residency consisted of extensive general anesthesia and sedation training, dental implant and bone grafting surgery, corrective jaw surgery, trauma, management of oral pathology and temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders. Dr. Diaz has also completed and published research on TMJ under the mentorship of Dr. Frank Dolwick, DMD, PhD. She has traveled to Honduras on mission work and has gained valuable experience on alveolar cleft surgery.

Dr. Diaz has received multiple academic awards and recognitions including: graduating in the top 10% of her dental school class, induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society and receiving the Gold Humanism Resident Award.

Dr. Diaz is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Florida Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association. Pasco and Hillsborough County Dental Associations.

She was born and raised in Cuba and moved to Tampa, FL with her family at the age of 12 making the Tampa Bay Area her home. Dr. Diaz is happily married to her husband Alex who is a Special Forces Medic. They are excited to start their family soon and happy to be back in Tampa serving their community.
